Raipur: The city police are preparing to register the first FIR against Singapore-based online survey company Speak Asia.
This comes after inspector general Mukesh Gupta lashed out at officials for not initiating any proceeding against the company despite repeated complaints.
It was after this action by Gupta that SSP Dipanshu Kabra ordered Azad Chawk CSP Neetu Kanwal to start the proceedings.
The CSP on Monday began studying all the complaints received against the company.
The complaints received by the special cell and the civil lines police have also been forwarded to Kanwal for consideration.
A list of all the complainants is being prepared as they will be called to record their statements before the police.
The police have been till now evading any action against Speak Asia, claiming that the complainants do not have any substantial document as proof to back their complaints.
It must be noted that the misdoing by the online firm was first exposed by Dainik Bhaskar.
The laxity on the part of the police department can be ascertained with the fact that representatives of Speak Asia on Sunday organised a programme to lure investors in the heart of the city.
Speak Asia has till now made over 50000 people in the state invest as much as Rs 150 crore.
They took Rs 11,000 from each investor, assuring them of giving Rs 4000 every month in return.
